Jim was killed in Iraq, serving his country, on 4 November 2005

Jim was awarded the Combat Action Badge,
the
Purple Heart
and the Bronze Star.
He also received the
Iraq Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.

West Point Graduation, Class of 2002

The Army Transportation Corps awarded Jim the Ancient Order of Saint Christopher (info here), and the State of New Jersey awarded Jim it's highest honor, the state's Distinguished Service Medal (info here).

 Jim is the son of Ken & Helen Gurbisz.
Ken is one of our own, a Highlander; a 604th Huey pilot in 1969/70.
Jim is Kathleen's "little brother." Jim is Tori's (Victoria's) husband.
